Prospective National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members have been exhorted by Wale Ahmed (APC-Lagos) to refrain from attempting to sway their placements in order to feel a renewed sense of responsibility. He emphasized the value of serving in many sections of the nation to get a comprehensive understanding of life.
In a statement made on Monday in Abuja, Ahmed emphasized the need for the Federal Government to strengthen crucial institutions, including as the security infrastructure and the NYSC program.
He claimed that the main goal of the NYSC program was to instill in young Nigerians a spirit of selfless service to the community. He added that it aims to foster camaraderie and solidarity among all Nigerians, regardless of their ethnic or social backgrounds.
Ahmed urged all tiers of government to give proper security measures top priority, offer basic social amenities, and raise the monthly stipends and allowances for NYSC participants.
