Prison-Bus crashed in Kwara Market.

A Nigerian Correctional Service Bus has crashed at the Emir’s Market (Oja-Oba), In the Ilorin West Local Government Area of Kwara State,

The incident on Thursday resulted in seven people being hurt.

The vehicle was carrying a few suspects to court in the early hours of the morning when the collision happened. It then struck those parked at the side of the road, who were primarily riders of commercial motorcycles.

They received emergency care at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital.
Four deaths were first feared, but the ‘okada’ riders group and Ilorin Correctional Service officials refuted this.

The incident infuriated the mob, who attacked and vandalized the bus.

Due to the chaos, security personnel from the Department of State Services (DSS) and the police were called in, and they cordoned off the area surrounding the Palace of the Emir of Ilorin and closed the routes to the markets in Oja Oba, Isale Oja, Idi Ape, and Ago.
