The National Industrial Court in Abuja has stopped the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) from carrying out its planned strike against Dangote Petroleum Refinery.
Justice Emmanuel Danjuma Subilim, ruling on an ex-parte motion filed by Dangote Refinery on Monday, restrained the oil workers’ union from cutting crude and gas supply to the multi-billion-dollar facility.
The court order followed arguments by Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), George Ibrahim, on behalf of Dangote Refinery.
Other defendants in the suit include the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), and the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC).
Further hearing on the matter is expected in the coming days.
