Court strips LASTMA of abilities to force fine, tow vehicles

An Ikeja High Court on Friday forced a N.750 million on Lagos State Traffic The executives Expert in a watershed judgment on the powers of the organization to force fines and tow vehicles of drivers thought to have committed traffic offenses.

Equity Olalekan Oresanya in a suit organized by a driver, Mr. Lawal Aliyu against LASTMA, Lagos State Government, and the state’s Principal legal officer, held that it was illegal for LASTMA to force fines and tow vehicles of supposed traffic guilty parties without a legitimate court request.
