The Kano State Government has discharged 16 more COVID-19 patients from its isolation facilities after they tested negative twice for the virus.

This was contained in a statement by the state’s Commissioner for Information, Malam Muhammad Garba, and issued to newsmen in Kano on Friday.

The statement noted that Kano has discharged a total of 22 patients.

He said among the discharged patients were Prof Abdulrazak Garba Habeeb of the Department of Medicine, Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, who is also the co-chairman, state Task Force on COVID-19, and the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Aminu Ibrahim Tsanyawa.

He advised the public to continue to observe the strictest personal hygiene through regular hand washing, use of face masks, and social distancing.
