The Al Nassr player, Luiz Gustavo, claimed that the Portuguese superstar’s presence had made it tough for him and his teammates since their rivals were driven to prove themselves against him.
Gustavo was quoted by RT Arabic as stating, “Certainly, Cristiano (Ronaldopresence )’s makes it harder for us, as all clubs aim to compete against him in the best possible way, and he gives everyone incentive.”
Five-time Ballon d’Or winner Ronaldo made his Saudi Pro League debut during Al Nassr’s 2-2 tie with Al Fateh.
Ronaldo has scored just one goal—a penalty goal—in three games since relocating to the Middle East for Al Nassr, which is now tied with Al Shabab and Al Ittihad but in first place in the standings thanks to a higher goal differential.
Gustavo acknowledged that the inclusion of the 38-year-old former Real Madrid striker provides Al Nassr a “big advantage,” nevertheless.
According to 35-year-old Gustavo, who formerly played for Bayern Munich and Marseille before joining Al Nassr, “his presence at Al-Nassr gives a big advantage to the group since we learn from him everyday, considering the enormous qualities he possesses, both technically and physically.”
“Cristiano Ronaldo was built for trials, and he overcame them all. And everyone in this room is anticipating his presentation. He already scored his first goal, so the pressure was off, the speaker continued.
