Cross River Police arrest four suspects linked to the alleged burglary of a phone accessories shop in Calabar, where goods and cash worth about ₦49.15 million were reportedly stolen.
The Cross River State Police Command said it arrested four members of an alleged six-man gang over the incident.
The suspects are Hassan Ahmad, 38; Jabiru Ibrahim, 35; Usman Isa Garuba, 22; and Abdullalim Hassan, 23.
Police said the suspects allegedly broke into Royaline Technologies, a phone accessories company on Etta Agbor Road, Calabar, on 3 June 2026.
According to preliminary investigations, the gang targeted the business and removed dozens of mobile phones and other electronic accessories.
The police said the suspects allegedly stole 62 mobile phones of different models during the operation.
They also reportedly took phone accessories, speakers and earphones.
In addition, the gang allegedly stole ₦529,000 in cash from the shop.
Police have not disclosed the identities of the other two suspects said to be part of the six-man gang.
However, investigators are expected to continue probing the case as they work to establish the full circumstances surrounding the burglary.
The arrest could also help police trace the stolen phones and other items believed to have been taken from the business.
Meanwhile, the command has not stated whether the recovered items have been returned to Royaline Technologies.
The case highlights the security risks facing businesses that deal in high-value electronic goods.
For shop owners, such incidents can cause significant financial losses. They can also disrupt business operations and undermine confidence in commercial areas.
As the investigation continues, police are expected to determine the roles each suspect allegedly played in the operation and establish whether more people were involved.
