According to local reports, a widespread computer issue appears to have allowed Bank of Ireland consumers with no money in their accounts to withdraw 1,000 euros ($1,090).

According to the Irish Independent, massive groups gathered at ATMs around the country on Tuesday to take advantage of the error.

Those with little or no money in their accounts appear to have been able to deposit up to 1,000 euros into a Revolut account, which can be accessed from any ATM.

Meanwhile, Bank of Ireland has cautioned clients that cash withdrawals from ATMs would still be deducted from their accounts if they are overdrawn.
