Award-winning Nigerian singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has opened up on how marriage has reshaped his priorities, revealing that he now values family time and rest over nightlife.

Speaking on a recent episode of The Long Form podcast, the Afrobeats star said his lifestyle has changed significantly since marrying his longtime partner, Chioma Adeleke. According to him, the era of constant clubbing has given way to quiet moments at home and regular FaceTime calls with his wife while on trips.

Davido reflected on his early years in the music industry, describing how sudden fame, wealth and freedom made him reckless. He recalled that clubbing used to be a daily routine during that period.

However, the singer noted that things are different now. He disclosed that during a recent two-month stay in Nigeria, he barely stepped out socially, choosing instead to stay indoors, work in his studio and host small, relaxed gatherings with friends.

He explained that those low-key moments often stretched into the early hours of the morning, after which he would return home, speak with his wife on FaceTime and go to sleep.

While stressing that he still attends shows and honours invitations from close associates, Davido said his main focus has shifted. He now prioritises sleep, peace of mind and quality time with his family over nightlife and casual outings.
