The death toll from the explosion that rocked Oyo state capital Ibadan on Tuesday has increased to five, according to a statement released by the state administration on Thursday.
Throughout a 14-kilometer radius, the blast damaged multiple homes.
Remember that three people had died as a result of the explosion, according to Oyo governor Seyi Makinde, who made this revelation during a speech on the casualties.
However, in an update on the fatalities from the horrific explosion, Fatai Owoseni, the Special Advisor on Security Matters to Governor Seyi Makinde, revealed that two more dead had been found in an interview with Channels Television on Thursday.
“Rescue operation is still ongoing. As of yesterday, we had three casualties but this morning, just about 30 minutes ago, I got information from the security operatives supporting the medical team that two more dead bodies were recovered this morning,” he said.
