On Saturday, December 3, 2022, the Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu Street Table Tennis Challenge’s championship match would take place in the council chamber of the Lagos State district of Igando/Idimu.
Players from the Alimosho area competed against one another in the table tennis tournament that began on Friday, November 18, 2022, with the winner representing the region at the state championship scheduled for the first quarter of 2023.
Omotoyinbo Tolulope will face Joseph Jesubomi, also known as Atorise by his throngs of fans, in the competition’s final match. Atorise won his semifinal match by overcoming Ameen Mustapha in straight sets, but Tolulope had to endure a tense match against Raimi Saka. The Igando/Idimu LCDA chairman, Comrade Ayinde Akinsanya, and the leader of the house in the council, Hon. Prince Dauda Gbadamosi, together with other members of the council’s executive committee and players’ fans, attended the semi-final matches.
The two gladiators who are competing against one another for the ultimate prize in the game of table tennis in their zone are expected to have a large turnout for the final match, which is scheduled for 12 p.m. on Saturday.
The Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu Street Table Tennis Challenge is an event being organized to bring table tennis’ heyday to Lagos and to identify and develop the many talents present in our wonderful state.
Rite Foods, Tecno Phones, Peace Anyiam-Africa Osigwe’s Film Academy, and a few private individuals with a strong interest in table tennis are all supporting the competition. Victor Ganzallo, the initiative’s co-coordinator, said that Eti-Osa Local Government will be the competition’s next venue, with support from the King Saheed Elegushi Foundation.
