The Federal Government (FG) has stated that despite the country’s economic woes, President Muhammad Buhari’s government has liberated more Nigerians from poverty and is still on course to do so by the conclusion of his presidency in 2023.
On Monday in Jalingo, Taraba State, Nasir Sani-Gwarzo, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development, revealed this. The president, according to Sani-Gwarzo, has brought smiles to the cheeks of Nigerians who are poor and vulnerable. She was speaking at the launch of the Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme 2.0.
“Since the start of President Buhari’s government in 2015, when it inherited a National Poverty Incidence level averaging 70% according to the National Bureau of Statistics, the FG has focused more on developing solutions to address the condition of the underprivileged and vulnerable in the nation.
