The Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) has placed Nigerian sprinter Divine Oduduru on an indefinite suspension for allegedly breaking an anti-doping regulation. The 26-year-old sprinter, who is Nigeria’s second-fastest runner in history, is also in danger of a six-year suspension, according to a statement from AIU on Thursday, February 9.
The Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) warned Divine Oduduru of two possible Anti-Doping Rule Violations (ADRVs) and is requesting a six-year penalty against the Nigerian, according to the statement.
The sprinter has been made aware of any possible ADRVs for possession (under Rule 2.6 of the World Athletics Anti-Doping Rules; ADR) and/or use or attempted use of multiple Prohibited Substances (Rule 2.2 ADR). He has already been placed on temporary suspension.
