Press release: Yakubu Dogara and his group of purported Christian APC leaders are frauds.
Yakubu Dogara, the former speaker of the House of Representatives, appears to have lost his mind after failing to realize his self-imposed goal of running for president of the All Progressives Congress. Because of this, he has undoubtedly turned into a reprobate and a demagogue who spews hatred and incites anger in an effort to engulf our nation in flames.
Therefore, the Tinubu-Shettima Presidential Campaign Council is not shocked by media reports regarding a gathering of some alleged Northern Christian leaders who claimed to be APC supporters and were supported by Dogara and people like him.
The assertion was entirely false.
The roving and politically insecure politician Yakubu Dogara, who organized the gathering, abruptly and formally departed our party a few weeks ago. Additionally, people who attended the gathering spoke for themselves, their own agendas, and not for Northern Christians.
Prior to that, the previous speaker had led a campaign of animosity and hatred against our party using religion as a ruse after losing the vice presidential nomination to Senator Kashim Shettima, who was more qualified.
He arranged an unholy gathering, and a careful examination of the attendees revealed that they were all PDP members posing as APC members.
Mukhar Shagari, Boni Haruna, Abdulfattah Ahmed, Damishi Sango, Senator Idris Ahmed Umar, and two former deputy governors of Kogi State, Yomi Awoniyi and Simon Achuba, were among the politicians present at the unholy consultative meeting. They are all PDP members who are supporting Atiku Abubakar’s bid for the presidency.
The resolutions passed did not catch us off guard. The media’s failure to see beyond their smokescreen surprised us.
The APC PCC questioned how the unlikely coalition wanted to promote cohesiveness and unity in our nation given that their candidate symbolizes the polar opposite of that purpose and has emerged as the biggest split in our society between the north and south.
Everyone in Nigeria is aware that Atiku’s selection as the PDP’s presidential candidate blatantly violated the north-south power rotation agreement. Because of a conflict within his party brought on by his insistence on grabbing and holding onto things that rightfully belong to another political zone, he had to flee from Port Harcourt to London to patch things up.
We wish to reassure Dogara and his accomplices that their hate campaign against Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his running mate will fail miserably in the elections.
The interactions our leaders have had with men of all faiths indicate that intolerance will not prevail in the upcoming election in February. What will prevail is the track record of our candidates and the progressive programs they give Nigerians that are problem-driven and inclusive.
Asiwaju Tinubu and Senator Shettima are entering this campaign with the specific intent of including Nigerians from all socioeconomic backgrounds in decisions that will improve their lives. Our candidates won’t use the political divisions in our nation to their advantage or try to make religion sound like Kool Aid.
