According to prominent Niger Delta leader Asari Dokubo, the army and navy handle more than 99% of the nation’s oil transportation.
On Friday, June 16, shortly after a personal meeting with President Bola Tinubu in Abuja, Dokubo made additional accusations, including that the perpetrators of oil bunkering in the Niger Delta region are frequently strong cabals operating out of Abuja with an entitlement attitude.
He claimed that the President had pledged to look into claims of massive oil bunkering by infamous navy commanders who are kingpins and to take decisive action to put an end to the reprehensible behavior.
The former rebel leader stated that the common Niger Delta residents who are frequently held accountable for oil theft are not to fault since they lack the resources to carry out such sophisticated acts of st£aling.
