The federal government’s alleged diversion of a N35,000 subsidy removal award intended for service personnel is untrue, according to the Department of State Services (DSS).
In a statement, Dr. Peter Afunanya, the spokesman for the Department of State Services (DSS), stated that the agency had been made aware of some false postings made by Jackson Ude on his Twitter account, @jacksonpbn, criticizing the DGSS’s office and leader, Alhaji Yusuf Magaji Bichi.
“The Service now declares that the accusations are wholly untrue. It wants to be clear that staff subsidy funds have not been embezzled by the DG or anybody carrying out his orders. The service has not been granted any such funding, and personnel will get their entitlements as usual once that is distributed. It is clear that Mr. Bichi has taken care of the welfare of both current and retired staff in all respects. This is well known, and Ude can attest to it.
Remember how Ude accused the DGSS of stealing subsidized money intended for DSS employees on X, formerly named Twitter?
“There are complaints among State Security Service (SSS) employees regarding the director general’s (DG) failure to disburse the N30,000 grants that President Bola Tinubu authorized for all federal government employees,” he stated.
“The so-called ‘goodbye allowance’ which Ude accused the DG of granting himself is non-existent,” the statement further stated. It is only the author’s and his sponsors’ fantasy. However, if the DG receives a severance payment at the conclusion of his employment, how is it against established public service policy and unethical?
While Ude is up to no good once more and has persisted in painting Mr. Bichi as dishonest, the DSS’s findings demonstrate otherwise. Bichi, who was named the DGSS after being brought back from retirement in 2018, is regarded as scrupulous, responsible, open, and, most importantly, uncorruptible. He has maintained his will to lead the service and demonstrated extraordinary dedication to overseeing its operations.
His primary concerns are the well-being of his employees and the prudent use of both material and human resources. It is thus inappropriate to present any false tales to the contrary.

In light of the aforementioned, the public is asked to reject the lies being spread by this well-known purveyor of fake news, whose sole business is to mislead and utilize his platforms to incite conflict and bloodshed. The DGSS will pursue the the necessary legal action to seek remedy in the interim.
