On January 31, tragedy struck when a fully loaded container-laden truck crashed into a group of tiny commercial tricycles, or “Marwa,” in the Ikotun/Alimosho neighborhood of Lagos State.

According to reports, two people died during the operation. Remember that only 48 hours prior, on Sunday afternoon, a similar accident occurred at the Ojuelegba flyover in the Surulere neighborhood of the state, leaving nine passengers dead and one person alive after a truck carrying containers tipped over and struck their small commercial bus, known as the “Korope.”

However, in the most recent incident, LASTMA staff members who were the first on the scene to respond to the situation were able to save 4 people.

Witnesses report that a truck carrying with fully loaded containers was involved in the collision, which happened at around 12:30 pm. According to reports, the driver of one of the tricycles, which had one passenger, quit immediately.
