The Edo State House of Assembly has reinstated suspended legislators Donald Okogbe and Adeh Isibor after a five-month suspension. The assembly initially suspended them, along with Bright Iyamu, on May 6 for allegedly conspiring to impeach the Speaker and other key officials. Iyamu was reinstated in June after showing remorse, according to Speaker Blessing Agbebaku.

During a plenary session on October 2, Agbebaku announced the consensus decision to reinstate Okogbe and Isibor. He also congratulated the newly elected governor, Monday Okpebholo, emphasizing that the governor represents all Edo citizens, not just the APC. Agbebaku expressed hope that the governor would not be misled by sycophants. He welcomed lawmakers back from recess and thanked them for their commitment to passing significant bills, while also approving a calendar of 57 sitting days for the second quarter of the assembly’s session.
