During a sting operation in the early hours of Saturday, EFCC agents detained a woman carrying 18 voter registration cards in the Badarwa neighborhood of Kaduna, Kaduna State.

The woman, Maryam Mamman Alhaji, is a supporter of one of the major political parties, and she also possessed a 17-page list of registered voters in Badarwa/Malali Wards 01 and 08, Kaduna North Local Government Area, Kaduna State, with their names, bank information, and phone numbers.

She was apprehended, according to the commission, when undercover agents appeared to have voter cards and be frantic to sell them.

She is currently being questioned by EFCC agents from the Kaduna Zonal Command in an effort to identify other members of her syndicate who, according to her, are also obtaining voter registration cards and paying fees via PoS or direct bank transfers.

At the Goron Dutse neighborhood of Kano Municipal Local Government, the EFCC also detained a man for allegedly purchasing votes with N194,000 at the Gidan Zakka polling unit.

In Abaji FCT, a party agent who was purchasing votes from voters through bank transfers was also detained.
