The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) re-arrested social media personality Idris Okuneye, widely known as Bobrisky, on Thursday evening at Lagos’ Murtala Mohammed International Airport. This arrest, happening just days after his release on bail, interrupted Bobrisky’s attempt to board a flight to London.
Eyewitnesses reported that authorities stopped the plane before takeoff, escorting Bobrisky off in full view of other passengers. Following the incident, Bobrisky shared on Instagram, “Nigerians help me, EFCC just arrested me. I’m badly injured.”
Previously, Bobrisky faced detention at the Seme border by the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) while allegedly attempting to leave the country. He has been under investigation after an audio clip emerged in which he claimed he could serve a six-month sentence outside prison due to “influential connections.”
