Senator Sam Egwu, who represents the Ebonyi North Senatorial Zone, has urged Governor David Umahi to be careful with remarks he makes about his supporters when running for office.

Elections are not won by threats of violence or extortion, according to Egwu.
In response to a speech made by Governor Umahi at the APC rally in 135 Ezzamgbo, in the Ohaukwu Local Government Area of the State, urging him to give up his political aspirations on the basis of fairness, equity, and justice, Senator Egwu made this remark.
Egwu claims that Gov. Umahi lacks the knowledge and moral character to compel him to give up his aspirations of becoming a senator.

The People’s Democratic Party, PDP, has been and will continue to be a peaceful party that would consistently win elections in the State because it bases its ideology on the welfare of the people, according to Senator Egwu, who is the first Executive Governor of the State.

The comment was unfortunate, according to Senator Egwu, who made the disclosure at his rural residence, Umuebe Ezzamgbo in the State’s Ohaukwu local government Area.
“How can a governor who ran for president and abjectly lost, then went to his district and seized a woman’s senatorial ticket, be calling on another person, from another district, and in a different Party to step down?”

In order to prevent the impending scandal, Senator Egwu then persuaded Governor Umahi to give up his desire to run for the Senate and return the ticket to Princess Ann Agom Eze, who is the real owner.

In addition to forcing his candidacy on his party and the populace, the PDP senatorial candidate for Ebonyi North zone claimed that Um ahi’s action violated Princess Ann Agom Eze’s right to equality as a woman by abusing his position as governor.
Is it not dishonest of the same Governor Umahi who had elevated me to a superior position to now contrast me with Nwebonyi?

It is unheard of to ask a stronger contender to withdraw from the race in favor of a candidate who is unqualified to hold the prestigious office of senator. Governor Umahi’s rash remarks are a real representation of his state of bewilderment. I can only advise Ebonyi North zone residents to disregard him.
