The Provost, Dr Cecelia Adebayo, of College of Health Sciences and Technology, Ijero-Ekiti, has applauded the accreditation granted, eight of the institution’s academic and professional programmes by the appropriate bodies.

Adebayo said the accreditation was result of “our resolve to uplift academic standard in the institution as we are pursuing vigorously the vision of transmuting the College to a Polytechnic”.

A statement by the school management titled, ‘COHESTI gets accreditation for eight academic/professional programmes’, stated that the college authorities would not relent in the quest for excellence at the academic and professional levels.

It stated, “Sequel to the accreditation conducted in August 2021, the Optometrists Dispensing Opticianry Registration Board of Nigeria has approved full accreditation for the Dispensing Optician Technicians programme of the College”.

COHESTI stated that the Health Officers Record Registration Board of Nigeria had in July, 2021 accredited the professional National Diploma in Health Information Management Technology and as well the technicians’ programme of the course.

Other programmes of the College that got full accreditation by the National Board for Technical Education in May 2021 include; National Diploma in Environment Health Technology; Health information Management Technology; and Computer Science.

It would be recalled that the Community Health Practitioners Board of Nigeria in March 2021 granted full accreditation to the College’s Community Health Extension Workers and Junior Community Heath Extension Workers’ programmes.
