According to reports, Chief Okeke J Omagh, the father of politician, attorney, and former commissioner from Enugu, noEmeka Okeke, has passed away.
At the age of 92, the revered religious figure and community leader from Obuoffia Awkunanaw in the Nkanu West Local Government of Enugu State departed from this life.
During a news conference held earlier in Enugu, Okeke confirmed his father’s death, saying the nonagenarian passed away on Saturday, February 24, at his Obuoffia home.
The late Chief, who was born on January 30, 1932, had a distinguished career at the Nigerian Coal Corporation before retiring of his own free own, he said.
He continued to be involved in the oil and gas industry after retiring, going so far as to become the Executive Director of Checkpoint Petroleum Ltd.
The former commissioner stated, “Chief Okeke is survived by his wife, children, several grandchildren, and great grandchildren.” Funeral plans would be revealed at a later date.
