Governor Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia has warned that the safety of visitors to Benue State cannot be guaranteed if they do not obtain prior approval.
-
Unscheduled visits, particularly to Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps, require permission from the Benue State Emergency Management Agency (BSEMA).

Alia emphasized the importance of avoiding political gatherings without prior approval and urged security agencies and the public to maintain peace and order.
In a statement released on Monday by his Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, Governor Alia clarified that he is not expecting any unscheduled visitors to the state. He explained that he is currently engaged in high-level meetings with key state actors to address crucial matters affecting Benue.
The governor further stressed the need for individuals or groups intending to visit the state to obtain the necessary clearance. He warned that any visits made without his knowledge would not guarantee the safety of those involved. Additionally, anyone planning to visit the IDP camps must first obtain written permission from the Benue State Emergency Management Agency (BSEMA).
Governor Alia’s warning serves as a reminder to all parties, urging cooperation with security agencies and the public to preserve peace and order in the state.
