Foundation members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Enugu State have dragged Senator Ken Nnamani for polarizing the party, to Mai Mal Buni, the party’s chairman of the National Caretaker Committee.a
The party members wrote a petition to Buni accusing Nnamani former Senate President representative of the Southeast in the National Caretaker Committee of polarizing the party.
The petition has already been acknowledged by the office of the National Chairman.
The petition was signed by Dr. Charles Ogbu, Enugu West Senatorial zone, Chief Mike Nwobodo, Enugu East Senatorial zone and Lady Phill Nwodo, Enugu North Senatorial zone.
They alleged in the petition that the former lawmaker’s entrant into the party had turned out to a curse.
They said, “We are stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress in Enugu State that have been working tirelessly to grow the party since its creation in 2013.
“We have put a lot of resources to ensure that the party becomes popular with the grassroots in Enugu State and are seriously bemused, demoralized and irate about ongoings in the party caused by some new entrants from the Peoples Democratic Party after the 2015 election.”
They added that the party was united and a formidable force until the entrance of Nnamani in 2017.
“It is noteworthy that he did not join the party with any notable supporter but we mobilized our members to welcome him and made the event more colourful.
“Prior to that, some PDP members had warned that he is joining APC to disorganize it but we never believed it,” the party members said, while maintaining that Nnamani was working for the PDP.
They told Buni that “as leaders of the party in Enugu State we are very much concerned as Senator Ken Nnamani has made the in Enugu State APC an instrument of ridicule.
“We solicit for the rescue of the party from him as we will not tolerate his misdoings anymore.”
