The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has dismissed reports claiming that retired Comptroller General of the Nigerian Immigration Service, David Shikfu Parradang, was kidnapped and killed.

In an official statement, SP Josephine Adeh, the Police Public Relations Officer, clarified that Mr. Parradang was found dead in his hotel room at Joy House Hotel, Area 3 Junction, Abuja, under circumstances that are currently under investigation.

According to the police, Parradang checked into the hotel around noon on March 3, 2025, paying N22,000 for a one-night stay. Shortly after, he was visited by a female guest whom he directed the hotel staff to escort to his room. The woman left the premises around 4:00 PM.

Parradang remained in his room throughout the night. At approximately 4:00 AM on March 4, a concerned friend, a military officer, traced him to the hotel. Upon arrival, the officer and hotel staff discovered Parradang unresponsive, seated in a chair.

Authorities from Durumi Police Station were alerted and arrived at the scene to secure evidence and document findings. His body has since been moved to the National Hospital for further examination. The police also confirmed that the hotel staff are cooperating with ongoing investigations, and efforts are underway to locate and question the female visitor.

The FCT Police Command urged the public and media to refrain from spreading unverified claims, particularly reports of kidnapping, which could cause unnecessary panic. They assured the public of a thorough investigation to determine the exact cause of death.
