Folarin Falana, commonly known as Falz, a Nigerian rapper and activist, has warned Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the Nigerian Police Force to take action in the killing of a female lawyer, Bolanle Raheem, in Lagos by an Assistant Superintendent of Police.
Bolanle was with her family on Christmas Day when she was shot in her vehicle by Drambi Vandi, a trigger-happy police officer.
Falz responded to the event on Wednesday via his Twitter page, saying that now that the ASP has been suspended, justice should prevail in the matter.
He also mentioned the 2020 #EndSARS demonstration and how young Nigerians were treated for denouncing police brutality at the time, stressing that nothing had changed.
“@jidesanwoolu @PoliceNG,” he wrote.
“On Christmas Day, another man in a police uniform murdered a pregnant Bolanle Raheem.
“If this person isn’t punished & full details PUBLISHED for everyone to see, I am worried many would perceive it as an invitation to anarchy.
“Humble counsel.
“When we refused to leave the streets in October 2020, we were labeled as obstinate #EndSars teenagers seeking to cause problems.
“Two years after a commission provided recommendations in those situations, none of them had been adopted.”
@jidesanwoolu @PoliceNG
When we refused to leave the streets in October 2020, we were referred to as recalcitrant #EndSars youth that just wanted to make trouble.TWO YEARS after a panel made recommendations regarding those cases, they have still not been implemented..
