Renowned actor and director Aminu Bono, widely recognized in the Kannywood film industry, has passed away. His fellow actor, Babangida Bangis, shared the sad news, stating that Bono collapsed on Monday evening. He was immediately rushed to the hospital where doctors confirmed his untimely demise. According to Bangis, Bono’s funeral will take place on Tuesday, following Muslim customs.
Expressing his condolences, actor Ali Nuhu took to Instagram to pay tribute to Bono, praying for divine mercy and a place in paradise for the departed soul.
Throughout his career, Bono was involved in the production of numerous successful movies such as ‘Manyan Mata’, ‘Dan Gwamna’, ‘Nasamo Me Kahina’, ‘Alaqa’, and ‘Daukaka’. His contributions to the industry also included films like ‘Kawayen Amarya’, ‘Agola’, ‘Zamantakewa’, and ‘Na Hauwa’. Notably, Bono stood out as one of the few directors who also showcased his acting skills on the silver screen, earning him a prominent position in the Hausa film industry, fondly referred to as Kannywood.
Born in the historic city of Kano, Aminu Siraj Bono made a remarkable entrance into Kannywood with his directorial and production credits for the film ‘Agola’ in 2017. He leaves behind a legacy of captivating performances and a significant impact on the film industry in northern Nigeria.
