FCT Head of Service, Grace Adayilo, Dies Months After Historic Appointment

The Head of Civil Service for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mrs. Grace Adayilo, is dead.

Adayilo reportedly collapsed early Monday morning and never regained consciousness. The cause of her death remains unknown.

Appointed by President Bola Tinubu in October last year, she made history as the first female and indigenous Head of Service of the FCT. An indigene of Abuja, Adayilo’s rise to the top of the FCT Administration was widely celebrated as a milestone for women and the native community.

Her last official duty was on Thursday when she represented the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, at the G7 security meeting in Abuja.

Her sudden passing has thrown the FCT Administration into mourning, with many describing it as a painful loss for both the capital city and Nigeria.
