The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, is set to inaugurate the construction of four new roads and the staff quarters for the Nigerian Law School, among other major projects, this week. In a statement released on Monday, the Senior Special Assistant to the Minister on Public Communication and New Media, Lere Olayinka, revealed that six new projects will be flagged off within the next two weeks.
The key projects include the construction of the Kabusa-Takushara and Kabusa-Ketti Access Roads, as well as providing access roads to the new EFCC Academy site in Giri District. Additional projects include the design, construction, and furnishing of an office complex for the Body of Benchers, the design and construction of 10 staff quarters for the Nigerian Law School in Bwari Area Council, and the construction of a 15km road from A2 Junction on the Abuja-Lokoja Road to Pia in Kwali Area Council.
Olayinka also highlighted that the minister has recently visited over 10 project sites for an on-the-spot assessment of ongoing developments in Abuja and its satellite towns. These inspections included the construction of key roads such as the Saburi-Dei Dei road, the 5km Dutse-Usuma Dam road, and the upgrading of several roads within the Bwari and Kwali Area Councils.
In addition to infrastructure projects, Wike’s administration plans to enhance the performance of security agencies in the FCT by distributing new vehicles to them. This initiative is part of broader efforts to improve security and infrastructure across the territory.
