The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested a 23-year-old ex-convict, Iliayasu Mohammed, for allegedly murdering his friend, Safillahi Muhammad, in Dantata Village.
Authorities responded to a distress call around 1:30 PM and arrived at the crime scene to find Muhammad lying unconscious in a pool of blood. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Mohammed invited the victim to his home and served him a meal before launching a brutal attack with a cutlass, inflicting severe wounds on his head and body.
Further probing uncovered Mohammed’s ties to a notorious criminal syndicate led by a suspect identified as Hassan, who is currently at large. The gang is reportedly involved in targeting and robbing motorcyclists.
The FCT Police Command is actively pursuing other members of the gang and has assured the public that Mohammed will be charged in court upon the conclusion of the investigation.
