Move aimed at boosting intelligence sharing and joint operations in Abuja

The Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory Command, Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, has intensified efforts to strengthen security collaboration in Abuja with visits to key sister agencies.
The police chief on Wednesday paid familiarisation visits to the Commander of the Guards Brigade, A.O. Onasanya, and the Controller of Customs, FCT Area Command, V.C. Aliboh.
The visits form part of his ongoing tour of security formations in the Federal Capital Territory aimed at enhancing inter-agency cooperation and improving the overall security architecture of the nation’s capital.
Speaking during the engagements, Sanusi emphasised the importance of unity of purpose among security agencies, noting that effective collaboration remains critical in addressing emerging security challenges.
He commended the existing working relationship between the police, the military, and the Nigeria Customs Service, while calling for sustained synergy through improved intelligence sharing, joint operations, and mutual respect among officers across all ranks.
The police commissioner stressed that strengthening cooperation among agencies would significantly enhance the capacity to prevent and respond to crime in the FCT.
In their responses, the Commander of the Guards Brigade and the Customs Area Controller pledged continued support for the police command, reaffirming their commitment to deepening collaboration in the interest of public safety.
They also assured the police of their readiness to work closely in intelligence gathering and coordinated operations to tackle security threats within the capital.
The visits featured the exchange of plaques and souvenirs, as well as photo sessions to mark the occasion.
The FCT Police Command urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to security agencies through designated emergency lines, assuring the public of its commitment to safeguarding lives and property.
