FCT Police Command Welcomes CP Ajao Saka Adewale as New Commissioner of Police
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has officially welcomed Commissioner of Police (CP) Ajao Saka Adewale, psc, mnips, as its 33rd Commissioner of Police.
CP Ajao takes over from AIG Olatunji Disu, psc, who was recently elevated and redeployed. The formal handover ceremony took place at the FCT Command Headquarters, marking the beginning of a new leadership era in the territory’s policing structure.
A seasoned law enforcement officer with over 30 years of experience, CP Ajao brings a wealth of expertise in crime investigation, tactical operations, and community policing. Born on November 28, 1968, in Boripe LGA, Osun State, he obtained a B.Sc. in Geography Education from the University of Ilorin before enlisting in the Nigeria Police Force on June 10, 1994.
His policing journey began at ‘D’ Divisional Headquarters, Oyo State Command, and he has since held key positions across various formations, including:
Commissioner of Police, Surveillance Squad, Akwa Ibom State
DCP, Zonal CID, Zone 2, Lagos
DCP, Airport Command, Lagos State
ACP, Rapid Response Squad, Lagos State
DPO, Ikeja, Oworonshoki, Owode Onirin, Alausa (Lagos), Tarka (Benue), and Yemetu (Oyo)
CP Ajao has undergone extensive professional training, including courses in leadership, tactical operations, community policing, and forensic crime examination, both locally and internationally.
Speaking at the assumption of duty, CP Ajao assured FCT residents of his commitment to maintaining law and order, safeguarding lives and property, and strengthening police-community relations. He called for public cooperation to enhance security in the nation’s capital.
