Prior to the yearly anticipated festivities, the Federal Capital Territory Police Command has dispersed thousands of troops and material resources throughout the country’s capital city.
The deployment, which entails the use of all intelligence and tactical resources available to the Command and is anchored by interagency cooperation, is required to ensure that crime and criminality in all of its manifestations and dynamics are swiftly put down.

According to Adeh, the deployment is distinguished by “strengthened police-community relationships towards intelligence gathering, stop and search, intelligence-led raids on black spots, visibility policing at every point of social convergence, highway and border patrol, aggressive vehicular/foot patrol, and surveillance, inter-agency collaboration, and sundry.”
Sunday Babaji, the FCT Commissioner of Police, informed residents of the Command’s unrelenting commitment to ensuring that citizens sleep with their two eyes closed during the holiday season and beyond in light of the aforementioned.
While informing senior officers from all of the Command’s units and formations about the operation order, Babaji instructed the officers to make sure that nothing was overlooked while carrying out their tasks in accordance with basic human rights and best practices from around the world.
