The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has launched an investigation into a fatal train accident that claimed the life of an unidentified woman along the Gwagwa-Idu railway line.

According to a statement issued by the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, officers responded to a distress call at around 11:00 AM on Monday, reporting an unconscious female on the railway tracks behind Zeberced Company, Idu.

Upon arrival, police officers discovered the lifeless and disfigured body of the woman, believed to have been struck by a moving train. Her remains were later evacuated to Kubwa General Hospital, where doctors confirmed her death.

Efforts are currently underway to identify the deceased and locate her family. Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner of Police Operations, DCP Isyaku Sharu, has urged residents to exercise caution around railway lines and adhere to safety regulations to prevent similar tragedies.
