The Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command, CP Ajao S. Adewale, has commiserated with the family, friends, and colleagues of Ms. Somtochukwu Christelle Maduagwu, an anchor and producer with Arise News Channel, who was killed during an armed robbery at her residence in Katampe, Abuja.
The tragic incident occurred in the early hours of Monday, September 29, 2025.
Describing the attack as “a cruel and senseless act that has no place in a sane society,” the CP assured that the Command is fully committed to bringing the perpetrators to justice.
He disclosed that he has ordered a discreet and comprehensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident and further directed the deployment of intelligence and operational assets to track down those responsible.
While assuring residents of the Command’s commitment to public safety and prevention of similar crimes, CP Adewale urged members of the public to support police investigations with timely and useful information.
He also advised residents to promptly raise alarms in suspicious situations as part of efforts to frustrate criminal elements.
