Adaeze, a female student of the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT), was discovered dead in her apartment at Aluu community in Ikwerre local government area of Rivers State.
The deceased, a 200-level Accounting student, was living in an off-campus residence located behind the main campus of the University.
The finding happened around two weeks after the body of Justina Otuene, a 300-level Biochemistry student who was allegedly murdered by her boyfriend, Damian, was discovered in her lover’s apartment along NTA Road, Ozuoba community in the state’s Obio/Akpor local government area.
Speaking about the most recent incidence, Professor Chima Wokocha, dean of student affairs at UNIPORT, stated that some of the deceased’s neighbors discovered her motionless body in her home and took it to a medical facility on campus.
“Those who live around her in her lodge brought her body to the Chief Lulu-Briggs Health Centre,” Wokocha stated.
She did not pass away in the dorm on campus. She passed away in her Aluu off-campus apartment, and the university administration—including my modest self—visited the scene of the murder.
He said that after seeing the scene of the tragedy, the police and school administration called the late undergraduate’s parents.
The dean of student affairs continued, “The police were also present.” Given that a container containing a chemical was discovered by her side, we acknowledge that she had taken a substance and passed out.
“I believe the parents are setting up to take the body; they have arrived.”
