Femi Gbajabiamila, the current speaker of the House of Representatives, has reportedly been named as President Bola Tinubu’s chief of staff.

The appointment of Gbajabiamila by the president followed several hours of discussions and consultations, according to PMNews, which cited the head of staff for Gbajabiamila, Olanrenwaju Smart Wasiu.

The president reportedly considered all potential candidates vying for the position among his supporters before choosing Gbajabiamila.

Following a final meeting with stakeholders that concluded on Thursday morning, June 1, at the Villa in Abuja, Smart claims that the president chose Gbajabiamila.

Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila would have to renounce his election to the House of Representatives for a sixth term since he had not yet received his certificate of return from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
