In honor of Nigeria’s 63rd anniversary of independence, the F.G. has designated Monday, October 2, 2023, a public holiday.

According to a statement released on Thursday by the interior ministry’s permanent secretary, Dr. Oluwatoyin Akinlade, the proclamation was made in Abuja by interior minister Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.

“Dr. Olubunmi reassured Nigerians that the government would continue to work to address the issues affecting the nation. Today, it is widely acknowledged that challenging socioeconomic and security concerns are international in nature, and Nigeria is not an outlier in this regard.
