The Federal Government has officially launched the digital registration portal for the National Youth Conference 2025, setting the stage for what it described as a transformational youth-led policy platform.
Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, announced the launch of the portal https://nationalyouthconfab.gov.ng during a press briefing in Abuja on Monday. The portal will serve as the central hub for registration, feedback, and updates for the conference, which targets 36,000 participants nationwide. Registration is open until June 30.
With the theme “Next Gen Nigeria: Crafting Solutions, Owning the Future,” the conference aims to galvanise youth voices and contributions toward national development.
“This is more than just a conference,” Olawande said. “It is a generational turning point, a national movement, and a call to action. It is a platform for us to listen, learn, and lead together.”
He stressed that the conference would not be a “talk shop” but a results-oriented and inclusive process involving virtual consultations, zonal consolidation meetings, and a final national conference in Abuja.
Delegates from all parts of the country and the diaspora are expected to contribute to discussions on pressing youth-related issues such as unemployment, education, healthcare, political inclusion, and innovation.
President Bola Tinubu had inaugurated a 44-member planning committee for the 30-day event on March 10, 2025, following his initial announcement during the 2024 Independence Day broadcast.
Olawande assured that the final stage of the confab in Abuja would present co-created policy recommendations to top government officials for consideration and adoption.
“With over 70% of Nigeria’s population under the age of 35, the future belongs to our young people. This initiative will turn frustrations into policy-driven solutions,” he said.
The National Youth Conference is part of ongoing efforts by the Tinubu administration to institutionalize youth participation in governance and national planning.
