The Nigerian government has officially released the results for the 2024 Professional Examination in General and Post-Basic Nursing Programs. The announcement was made in a circular from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) dated November 10, 2024.
According to the circular, a total of 18,139 candidates passed the examination, yielding an overall pass rate of 88%. Nursing institution heads across Nigeria are instructed to access their institution’s results online starting Tuesday, November 12, 2024.
The acting registrar of NMCN, Ngadi Alhassan, expressed pleasure in announcing the release of the results, which have been approved by the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare. The breakdown of results is as follows:
- General Nursing Programme: 12,534 candidates passed, representing an 88% pass rate.
- Refresher Program: 42 candidates passed, representing a 45% pass rate.
- Foreign Trained Nursing (FTN): 178 candidates passed, representing a 43% pass rate.
- Post-Basic Nursing Programmes: 4,513 candidates passed, representing a 96% pass rate.
- Community Nursing Programme: 872 candidates passed, representing a 74% pass rate.
The circular confirmed the successful candidates and highlighted the significant achievement of the nursing programs in the country.
