Vice President Kashim Shettima says the federal government will make single-digit loans available to Nigerian small businesses quickly.
This vow was made by the vice president on Tuesday in a message commemorating World Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Day in 2023.
He stated that the federal government was aware of the impact of the removal of gasoline subsidies on MSMEs and was striving to remedy it.
“On this World MSME Day, President Tinubu’s administration recognizes the critical role that MSMEs play in driving economic growth, creating jobs, and promoting innovation.”
“We remain committed to assisting MSMEs, creating an enabling environment, and improving access to finance, particularly in these unprecedented times.”
“We urge all stakeholders to work together to promote the growth and success of MSMEs in order to achieve long-term development for all.”
“We also recognize the slew of issues that MSMEs are facing as a result of the subsidy removal.”
“However, the government is working urgently to ensure that Nigerian small businesses have access to single-digit loans as soon as possible.”
“Please keep in mind that the president is your partner and is here to make your enterprises’ lives easier.
“Happy MSMES Day,” he exclaimed.
