A fire outbreak struck a section of the Port Harcourt refinery in Rivers State on Wednesday, but emergency teams swiftly contained the flames within five minutes.
Billy Gillis-Harry, National President of the Petroleum Retailers Outlets Owners Association of Nigeria, confirmed the incident, assuring that the situation was under control.
The refinery blaze comes just hours after twin explosions rocked the Manifold and Trans-Niger Pipeline in the Omwawriwa axis of Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni and Bodo-Gokana Local Government Areas.
This wave of incidents unfolds against the backdrop of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s state of emergency declaration in Rivers State, citing deepening crises and security threats in the region.
