The Accounts and Finance department of the Economic Community of West African States Commission (ECOWAS) secretariat was on Tuesday engulfed with fire.
The fire was said to have been put off by men of the Federal Fire Service shortly after it began.
Effort to reach the FFS spokesperson, Ugo Huan on extent of the damage proved abortive, and also officials of the commission were unavailable for comment.
