First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu and National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu will lead a national prayer session, uniting Christian and Muslim leaders to address Nigeria’s social, economic, and security challenges. The week-long event, themed “Seeking the Intervention of God in Nigeria’s Affairs,” is organized by the National Prayer Forum (NPF) and aims to foster resilience and inspire solutions for national stability.
Chief Segun Balogun Afolorunikan, Director General of NPF, emphasized the importance of unity. “Unity is crucial for finding lasting solutions. We believe that with God’s wisdom, our leaders and citizens will find the strength to confront our common challenges,” he stated.
Muslims will convene at the National Mosque in Abuja, where 313 participants will engage in a total of 2,191 Qur’an recitations dedicated to peace. Concurrently, Christians will meet at the National Ecumenical Centre, with prayer groups focusing on the nation’s challenges.
NPF leaders have coordinated efforts with the Christian Association of Nigeria, the National Mosque, and traditional figures, including the Sultan of Sokoto, to ensure nationwide support and participation. Organizers hope these prayer sessions will inspire renewed purpose and stability for Nigeria as the nation looks toward 2025.
