One person lost their life in a single accident on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Tuesday, and five other people were injured to varying degrees.
Florence Okpe, the Ogun State representative for the Federal Road Safety Corps, reportedly confirmed the development over the phone on Tuesday, according to Punch Newspaper.
According to Okpe, the crash that occurred along the Fidiwo axis of the road included 23 individuals.
Despite blaming speeding and tire bursts for the accident, the FRSC spokeswoman urged drivers to exercise caution when driving on the expressway.
She said, “23 persons involved, all male, five injured and one person killed.
“It was a lone crash involving a truck.
“The cause of the crash was tyre bust and speeding.
“Motorists are advised to always drive with caution on the expressway so as to prevent needless loss of lives.”
