President Bola Tinubu has directed Vice President Kashim Shettima to visit Maiduguri, Borno State, urgently due to the severe flooding that has engulfed the city. Shettima made this announcement on Tuesday during the 17th Annual Banking and Finance Conference (CIBN), themed “Accelerated Economic Growth and Development: Current Status and Future Directions.”
During his address, Shettima emphasized the gravity of the situation, noting that the flooding has overwhelmed the entire city of Maiduguri. He highlighted that the issue is widespread, affecting regions from Bayelsa to Sokoto. Shettima assured that President Tinubu is deeply concerned about the situation and committed to taking necessary actions to address the crisis.
The Vice President also extended his sympathies to those affected by the floods, underscoring the President’s dedication to mitigating the impacts of the disaster and supporting those in need.
