Flying Eagles head coach, Aliyu Zubairu, has promised that his team will recover from their disappointing 1-0 loss to Burkina Faso at the WAFU B U-20 Championship. The defending champions were outplayed in their opening match on Friday by the Young Stallions.

Zubairu’s team must now secure a win against Cote d’Ivoire in their final group game to keep their hopes of advancing to the semi-finals alive. The coach stressed that his players are determined to give their all in the must-win clash.

“Burkina Faso plays a highly physical game, and we mistakenly tried to match their strength despite my instructions,” Zubairu explained.

“We have five days to properly prepare for the Cote d’Ivoire match, and we need to win by more than one goal to move forward. We understand the fans’ frustration, but we ask them to keep believing in the team and supporting us. We’ll push through,” he assured.
