Following the drone strike by the Nigerian Army on Sunday night that resulted in the deaths of some innocent civilians, Chief of Army Staff Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja visited Kaduna State on Tuesday.
Additionally, General Lagbaja went to Tudun Biri hamlet, where a group of civilians celebrating Maulud were killed by Army gunfire.
The army chief is there to offer condolences to the deceased’ relatives and to conduct an immediate evaluation of the community.
that the Army stated that the strike occurred “mistakenly” in addition to taking responsibility for the tragic event that resulted in the deaths of at least thirty persons.
In the meanwhile, President Bola Tinubu has mandated a thorough probe into the Kaduna State explosion.
The President conveyed sorrow for the deaths of the residents in the Sunday night explosion that struck Tundun Biri village in the Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State, during the area’s Maulud festival.
President Tiinubu reacted to the incident on Tuesday, describing it as extremely regrettable, upsetting, and painful in a statement released by his spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale.
While the authorities attentively investigate the tragic tragedy, the president ordered a full and comprehensive probe into it and urged people to maintain composure.
In addition, President Tinubu expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased, the people of Kaduna State, and the government for the villagers’ loss of life in the explosion.
