FOOTBALL COACH, 45, DETAINED IN ONDO FOR REPORTEDLY BEATING UP HIS EX-GIRLFRIEND

A football coach named Bankole Oginni was detained by police in Akure, Ondo State, for reportedly k#lling his 45-year-old ex-girlfriend.

Olufumilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, the state police spokesperson, confirmed the incident: “A lady reported at the station that her mother’s ex-lover Bankole Oginni called and invited her (the deceased) over to his place in the Oke Aro neighborhood of Akure and after she left for his house, she did not return and her phone was switched off.

She followed her mother to the residence only to discover her lifeless body in the ex-lover’s chamber, with her hands and legs tied and her body otherwise mutilated with her intestines removed.

Additionally, there were hot water burn areas on her (the deceased’s) body.

While the deceased’s body has been placed in the mortuary, the suspect who claimed to be a player is already in our custody.
